Palace Gardens Fern
The gardens Palace Fern date from the seventeenth century, when James Fern built a great palace with gardens that reach the river Llobregat. Some historical sources mention stay at Fern Palace of King Philip V in the early eighteenth century. Until 1988, this historic property was the Marquis Castellbell descendant of James Fern.
In 1995 the estate, which currently comprise 2,800 m² palace and gardens, which have a length of 1, 5 hectares, acquired the City of Sant Feliu de Llobregat to turn it into a public park .
In this space, large banana trees have a notable predominance, but we also find other plant species such as palm leaf (endemic to the Mediterranean region), pink acacias, palm trees, roses, yew trees, holm oaks and holm oaks.
The gardens have spacious lawns, benches, paths, and an area for children to enjoy the fullness of the area.
The Palace building houses several municipal services, and the School of Music. In addition, since 2006 the headquarters of the National Exhibition of roses.

Heron Snack

Flora
Banana Platanus Hispanica

Cypress Cupresus sempervirens
- It is a conifer of high altitude, typical of warm and temperate areas.
- Very used in cemeteries since the time of the Romans.
Calculus Cocculus laurifolius
- Originally from Japan and China, it is a medium-sized tree, with white flowers with yellow dots.
Margalló Chamaerops humilis
- Endemic tree in the Mediterranean area, which is used for the manufacture of rubble, blinds, shackles and other household utensils. Its fruits are edible.
Oak Quercus ilex
- Mediterranean tree quite abundant in our forests.
- Some varieties provide the appreciated cork and its fruit, the agave, is a food appreciated for the fattening of the pig.
Gingko Gingko biloba
- Originally from China and Japan, it is currently not reproduced in a wild state.
- It is called the peace tree, because it survived the Hiroshima explosion of 1945. It can live for more than a thousand years.
Pitosporo Phitosporum tobira
- Originally from East China, South Japan and South Korea.
- It is used for ornamental purposes. It is very resistant to pollution.
